Honeycrunch apples have been grown in France since 1994 and have made their home in the Loire Valley. In 2016, however, they are set to return to their roots:

This variety was developed by the University of Minnesota, USA in 1974, and was brought over to France to be cultivated. But by popular demand and thanks to burgeoning interest in the USA, Honeycrunch is now being exported “back home” for the very first time!
